Privacy policy.
How Sona collects, uses, protects and shares your information when you visit our website, shop with us, or contact our support team.
Last updated: June 27, 2026
1. Who we are
For the purposes of this policy, the data controller is SONA Audio LLC, 3900 Max Pl, Boynton Beach, FL 33436, United States. You can reach our privacy team at support@sonamusic.com.
2. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to run the store, ship your orders and answer your questions:
- Account & contact information — name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, password (stored as a salted hash).
- Order & transaction data — items purchased, prices, shipping option, payment method, order status, returns history.
- Payment data — handled directly by our payment processors (Stripe, PayPal). We never see or store full card numbers.
- Support communications — the content of emails, chat messages, and call notes you exchange with our team.
- Device & usage data — IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, cart events. Used to keep the site secure and improve the experience.
3. How we use your information
- Process orders, take payment, ship products, and handle returns or warranty claims.
- Provide customer support and answer questions about your order or account.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access to your account.
- Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, password resets).
- With your consent, send marketing emails about new releases and member pricing. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- Improve the site, measure performance, and develop new products.
4. State privacy rights
Depending on the state you live in, you may have additional rights under US state privacy laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), the Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), the Connecticut Data Privacy Act (CTDPA), and the Utah Consumer Privacy Act (UCPA). These typically give you the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect about you and how we use it.
- Access a copy of that information in a portable format.
- Correct any inaccurate personal information.
- Delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions (tax records, fraud prevention, open disputes).
- Opt out of marketing email at any time using the unsubscribe link.
- Non-discrimination — exercising any of these rights will not affect the price you pay or the service you receive.
To exercise any of these rights, email support@sonamusic.com from the address associated with your account.
5. Sharing your information
We share information only with trusted service providers acting on our instructions, including:
- Payment processors (Stripe, PayPal) — to take and verify payment.
- Shipping carriers (DHL, UPS, FedEx and regional partners) — to deliver your order.
- Hosting, email, analytics, and customer-support providers — under contracts that limit how they can use the data.
- Authorities, when required by law or to protect our rights, customers, or the public.
We do not sell or rent your personal data to anyone.
6. Where your data is stored
All personal information is stored on servers located in the United States. We do not transfer customer data outside the US. Our service providers (Stripe, PayPal, shipping carriers, email and analytics tools) operate from US data centers under contracts that limit their use of your information to providing services to Sona.
7. How long we keep data
We keep order and accounting records for the period required by tax law (typically 7–10 years). Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Account data is kept while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of disputes. You can request earlier deletion (subject to those legal retention windows).
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Delete your account and personal data (subject to legal retention).
- Restrict or object to certain processing, including marketing.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these, email support@sonamusic.com. We respond within 30 days.
9. Security
We use TLS encryption for all data in transit, hashed passwords, scoped access controls, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure — if you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@sonamusic.com.
10. Children
Sona products are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Cookies
We use cookies to keep the cart working, remember your session, and (with consent) measure performance. Full detail is in our Cookie Policy.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page and, where appropriate, by email. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
